Technical Operations Lead


RightBrain Networks--a cloud computing consulting and software engineering firm--is seeking a Technical Operations Lead based out of our Ann Arbor, Michigan office. You'll gain real, hands-on experience working with some the most in-demand technologies: cloud computing, Docker, DevOps, and more. 

Our technical team specializes in building, consulting on, and managing complex, highly-scalable Internet-based applications. We are both a Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner. Our clients are located all over the globe and include everyone from Silicon Valley start-ups to Fortune 500 companies. They all rely on us to keep their critical cloud infrastructure online 24x7.

In this role you will lead--and help grow--our Cloud Success team. Our Cloud Success team manages our clients' production SaaS environments, foncusing on: up-time monitoring, logging, incident response, configuration/patch management, etc. This is a "lead from the front" position for an experienced technologist who's chosen to take his/her career down the management tract. You will be responsible for: selecting and implementing technologies, coordinating work with clients, ensuring we're meeting our SLAs, reporting on metrics, and coaching junior teammates.


  • A minimum of 3-4 years in a customer-facing, technical role in datacenter operations or Managed Services Provider (MSP) organization.
  • Strong communication and organization skills.
  • Must be available for occasional after-hours, on-call support.
  • Experience with SOX, HIPAA, PCI, and similar compliance standards.
  • Solid grasp of how the Internet works at a deep technical level: DNS, routing, security, etc.
  • Must be local to SE Michigan.


  • Software or web development experience
  • Public cloud (AWS or Azure) experience
  • An understanding of DevOps tools and practices such as: continuous delivery, infrastructure automation, infrastructure-as-code, kanban, etc.
  • Any relevant certifications: CCNA, Network+, RHCSA, MCSE, etc.
